The Keystone Pledge of Resistance (#NOKXL) is a national organization of over 75,000 members who are devoted to stop the presidential approval of The Keystone XL pipeline's construction across the United States. The pipeline will be a major risk to the quality of US land and water and will add significant amounts of carbon dioxide to the global atmosphere. #NOKXL is committed to perform massive and historic nationwide acts of peaceful, dignified civil disobedience if the president takes the first step to approve Keystone XL. #NOKXL strives to keep its members informed and engaged in a strong community of activists. The local Indianapolis chapter came to Glass Web Projects needing an animated video to help spread their mission quickly and effectively in hopes of gaining more members. After creating a script that was rich with content and photos, we were able to create a short, concise, attractive animation that explained who they are and how to get involved. The animation was easily shared via social media and has inspired more enthusiasm and interest in both local and national #NOKXL chapters, furthering their mission to protect our environment.
“Over the past two years we have done a lot of work organizing and trying to promote the Keystone Pledge of Resistance. Interest had begun to lag a bit as the decision about Keystone was delayed time and again--a great thing for us, but the fading target meant our tight organization began to lose its focus. Glass Web Projects connected us with their animator, Andrew, and the resulting animated video clearly explains what the Keystone Pledge of Resistance is, specifically how the campaign was organized in Indianapolis, and offered a way to join with the campaign. Now that the video is completed, I have uploaded it to YouTube, and spread the word via our email networks. In just the day since we did that, we received very positive responses from others in our local Keystone Pledge of Resistance group, from one of our national Quaker organizations, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), and also a very enthusiast response from the national Keystone Pledge of Resistance campaign organizers, the Rainforest Action Network.”
